Social networking is using the internet to meet new people, connect with friends you know and also to share advice and opinions. This is done through internet sites that support forums and networks such as my space and face book. The difference is that in the past the forums were used for tech support or personal opinions and experience. The new way of networking asks the users who they know and how they know them. Ties between users are then shown and people can see how they are connected to friends.
